Traditional embroidered tunics from rural and nomadic communities of South Asia, especially from Afghanistan, Balochistan, and the Kutch desert in Gujarat, India, which is where I bought them.
They feature richly hand-embroidered central panels with geometric and floral motifs, full of color, and in many cases with small mirrors embedded in the embroidery. The embroidery is not merely ornamental; it is symbolic and protective. They have a small pocket in the center. Each piece is vintage and unique.
