Beautiful handmade Egyptian necklace/amulet composed of a Ushabti figure medallion.
This long necklace is made of what archaeologists call “faience,” which is a mixture of sand, lime, and copper that was glazed in antiquity. In this case, it is a rustic, unglazed version made in the artisan workshops of Saqqara.
The earthy and greenish tones are reminiscent of the colors of the Nile earth and the ancient pottery of Ancient Egypt.
Golden beads are interspersed, contrasting with the clay-like and rustic tone of the beads.
The medallion represents the Goddess Wadjet, protector of Lower Egypt. She represents solar energy, divine energy. A symbol of the feminine and solar at the same time.
