Antique flared skirt hand-embroidered in Gujarat. The base is hand-dyed cotton. All the rich embroidery with intense colored threads is also handmade with the characteristic herringbone stitch of the Kutch embroidery tradition.
Its traditional use was for weddings, dances, or festivities in nomadic rural communities such as the Rabari. Each piece is unique and tells a story. Its antiquity is a value and adds beauty and authenticity. They take months to embroider and are usually part of the bridal trousseau.
It closes with a drawstring, so they adapt to various sizes. In any case, they are skirts with so much fabric that they are very easy to alter to adapt them to any size by changing the waistband.
