Open dress made of rustic cotton inspired by the textile silhouettes of the nomads of Western India, especially the Rabari people.
The piece stands out for its antique hand-embroidered bibs from remote regions of Gujarat and Rajasthan, where hand embroidery is part of their cultural identity. Each panel is in itself a work of art of tight embroidery in which mirrors, beads, and tassels are sometimes incorporated, adding luminosity, relief, and character.
In these pieces, different textile languages of Western India coexist: There are embroideries of a more tribal tradition, with mirrors as a protective and amulet symbolism to capture light, and there are other pieces with embroideries of even denser and more ornamental compositions, of Mughal influence.
