Kimono-style coat made of Suzani. Suzani is a traditional embroidery originating from Central Asia. Especially from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan. Its name comes from the Persian “suzan” which means “needle”
Due to the Silk Road, India made this intricate embroidery its own and adopted it as typical of areas like Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Suzani is an embroidery, in this case on cotton fabric, with floral, geometric, and vine motifs symbolizing prosperity and fertility. The designs, handmade with techniques passed down through generations, always have vibrant colors.
In this case, the Kimonos are made with antique suzani fabrics, making each one unique and different.
